Counseling Perspective

Men's Counselling and Support in Singapore

Practical, straightforward support for men navigating pressure at work, difficulty at home, anger, low mood, or the sense that something has quietly gone off track.

Starting from $150 / 60-min session

Counselling for men

Many men arrive at counselling later than they would like, often after a long stretch of managing on their own. The presenting reason is frequently work: pressure, exhaustion, a career that no longer fits. Underneath it there is often something else, such as strain in a relationship, anger that surfaces at the wrong moments, grief that was never given room, or a low mood that has become the background hum of daily life.

Our counsellors offer a direct, unhurried space to talk about it. No performance required, and no expectation that you arrive with the right words.

What we can help with

  • Work pressure, burnout and career direction
  • Anger, irritability and reactions you are not proud of
  • Low mood, anxiety and stress
  • Relationship and family difficulties, including fatherhood
  • Grief, loss and life transitions
  • Compulsive behaviours and the patterns that sustain them

How it works

Some men come for a handful of sessions with a clear goal in mind. Others stay longer and go deeper. Either is a legitimate use of the space. Sessions are available in person at our Singapore locations or online, and you can ask to work with a male or female counsellor, whichever feels easier.

Portrait of Nick Jonsson Online only

Nick Jonsson

Supervised Counsellor & Executive Coach

Nick works with adults who appear “high functioning” on the outside yet feel overwhelmed, isolated, burnt-out or stuck on the inside. His counselling is shaped by his own journey through burnout, addiction, and recovery, as well as more than two decades in senior leadership roles across Asia, Australia, and Europe. He has a particular heart for leaders, professionals, and their families who are carrying heavy responsibilities while quietly struggling with anxiety, depression, compulsive behaviours, or a loss of purpose.

Portrait of Varian Monteiro

Varian Monteiro

Counselling Therapist

Having an ongoing interest in the intertwined workings of the mind and body, Varian is decidedly enthusiastic about counselling and all things psychology-related. Adopting a client-centred humanistic approach as the driving form of his counselling style, he has been assisting clients in managing their behaviours in one-to-one and group sessions since 2013. He began his counselling journey by being introduced to behavioural compulsions and impulse control difficulties, which also happen to be his areas of speciality. He has facilitated all-male support groups for compulsive sexual behaviour disorder, and behaviour modification for problematic sexual behaviour, in both private and governmental settings. In these two environments, Varian worked with clients on their psychoeducation and to unlearn the shame and guilt surrounding compulsion. While he provides multiple tools to guide clients onto their paths of recovery, he draws upon several other techniques that are beneficial to his clients; focusing strongly on emotions while involving some cognitive behavioural, dialectical behavioural, and somatic approaches.
