Biography
Lana is a registered art psychotherapist who works with children, adolescents and adults experiencing difficult emotions, life transitions or changes in their mental health. She offers a warm, non-judgemental space where clients can slow down, make sense of their experiences, and explore feelings that may be difficult to express through words alone.
Lana supports clients in developing greater self-awareness, emotional expression and self-regulation through art-making. She believes that art therapy is not about being "good at art" or creating something beautiful — it is about having another way to explore and communicate what is happening within us. Her approach is flexible and responsive to each individual, combining a non-directive, person centred style with more structured therapeutic approaches when appropriate. She draws on elements of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and other evidence-informed approaches alongside creative and expressive methods.
Lana has worked with individuals with a range of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression and psychosis. She has also supported individuals experiencing self-harm and suicidal ideation, as part of a broader multidisciplinary care framework.
Having lived in the UK, Canada, Russia and Singapore, Lana brings a genuinely international and cross-cultural perspective to her work. She has a particular interest in supporting Third Culture Kids (TCKs) and Adult Third Culture Kids (ATCKs), as well as individuals navigating questions of identity, belonging and change. Her own experiences of moving between countries, alongside her experience as a parent and her earlier career in financial markets, give her an understanding of the complexities that can accompany major life transitions — whether these involve relocation, career change, relationships, parenthood or a shifting sense of identity.
At the heart of Lana's practice is a belief that creativity is part of being human and that making space for expressing ourselves through art can help us reconnect with ourselves, find new perspectives and bring more meaning and joy into our lives.
More about Lana
Lana holds a Master's degree in Art Therapy. She has worked with individuals across different age groups and care settings.
Alongside her clinical practice, Lana brings a background in financial markets, having previously worked at investment banks after completing degrees at the LSE (London School of Economics and Political Science). This combination of corporate and therapeutic experience has led her to develop and facilitate arts-based workshops for corporate organisations and international schools, exploring creativity, connection, communication and wellbeing.
Lana's interest in identity, belonging and culturally responsive practice has also informed her academic and professional work. In 2025, she presented at the American Art Therapy Association (AATA) Annual Conference on fostering therapeutic connection across cultural differences.
Giving back to the community is an important part of Lana's practice. She volunteers with a residential home for teenage girls, facilitating individual and group art therapy sessions.
